DeWitt County & The Great War Documentary: The 100 Year Tribute
"The Cuero Heritage Museum will host a Veterans Day event on Sunday, November 11th at Cuero City Hall Chambers. At 2 pm, the museum will show “The Great War,” a documentary on DeWitt County and World War I (1914 to 1918) that covers the history of the war and pays tribute to the local boys who died while serving their country. Following the documentary at 3 pm, there will be a Remembrance and Memorial Service at the WWI monument located at the flag pole between the fire station and the Cuero Public Library across from City Hall. The documentary was written and produced by Steve Waldrop of Cuero through his company, The History Connection. This is the third documentary Waldrop has produced for CHM that chronicles the history of America’s past military conflicts, while honoring local veterans killed while serving their country. A reception will be held prior to the event beginning at 1:30 pm in the Cuero City Hall lobby. This Veterans Day tribute is free and open to the public. Cuero City Hall Chambers is located at 212 E. Main Street in Cuero. For more information contact Amber Fitts at the Cuero Heritage Museum at 361-485-8090 or [email protected]."
