A fun-filled weekend of golf, music and camraderie, devoted to benefit the youth who call Bluebonnet Youth Ranch "home". This year's 34th Annual Bluebonnet Youth Ranch Celebrity Golf Tournament & Showdown is scheduled for Sunday and Monday, October 11 & 12, 2015. This year, the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is thrilled to welcome back country music songwriter Allen Shamblin as celebrity host of this year's activities. Allen was recently inducted into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has a resume of award winning songs he has written or co-written over the past 20+ years, including He Walked on Water, I Can't Make You Love Me, Don't Laugh at Me, and The House That Built Me, which won Song of the Year at the 44th Country Music Association Awards in 2010. The golf tournaments will be played on Sunday and Monday, October 11 & 12 at the Victoria Country Club in Victoria, Texas. A celebrity group of musicians, professional athletes, and entertainers will join in the fun and festivities at the golf tournaments. The annual Sunday evening banquet and auction will take place again at the beautiful Spring Creek Place Event Center. The following evening, Monday, October 12, the culmination of our 34th annual BYR events occurs at the celebrity showdown and dance at Texas’ second oldest dance hall, Schroeder Hall. Allen Shamblin will host and lead the final-night event that includes a star-studded lineup of nationally renowned performers from the country music industry. This annual fundraiser is the largest single source of operational expenses for the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch, Yoakum, Texas. Monies raised from these activities have helped to provide a home for hundreds of Texas children who have been victims of abuse and/or neglect.
