Lyceum Lecture: John Quiñones

"As a San Antonio native and the son of a migrant farmworker, John Quiñones did not learn English until he was six years old. Undaunted by Hispanic stereotypes of his era, Quiñones graduated from St. Mary’s University and went on to earn a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. He started his career in radio and TV journalism in Houston. In 1982, he joined ABC News in Miami and was a co-anchor for the program Primetime. Quiñones now hosts “What Would You Do?” and reports for ABC News programs such as 20/20, Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight, and Nightline.

As the second speaker in Victoria College's 2018-19 Lyceum Lecture Series, Quiñones will present "Opportunity through Education: John Quiñones’ American Dream" at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Victoria Fine Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public."
