International Vulture Awareness Day
"The first Saturday in September each year is International Vulture Awareness Day.
Vultures are an ecologically vital group of birds that face a range of threats in many areas that they occur. Populations of many species are under pressure and some species are facing extinction.
We will be celebrating IVAD at the Texas Zoo this year with all kinds of vulture related activities and games to help spread awareness of these successful scavengers. A portion of all proceeds from the day will go directly to saving vultures in the wild!
This event will be like none the Victoria area has seen before and we hope to see you all there. Together we can save these incredible animals!"
