A Day in the Life of the Presidio

"Join Living Historians on September 8th as they bring to life the daily routine of Spanish soldiers stationed on the frontier of Texas.

What was it like living at a presidio on the far Northern Frontier of Spanish Mexico? What did the soldiers posted to these frontier outposts wear? What did they eat? What sort of daily chores occupied their time?

Learn the answer to these questions and more as we bring Presidio La Bahia to life circa 1790-1810! Join us as living historians dressed in period clothing occupy the presidio as soldiers would have over 200 years ago. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the interpreters, ask questions and immerse themselves in the daily life of a Spanish presidial garrison of the Eastern District of the Internas Provincias.

Dress for the weather as this event takes place out of doors. Admission is $4 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, $1 for children 6-11, under 6 are free."
