Pearl milk tea
Pearl milk tea aka Bubble Tea, is a Taiwanese tea-based drink invented in Taichung in the 1980s. Liu Han-Chieh introduced Taiwan to tapioca pearls. The new fad was to add tapioca pearls into a favorite drink. Most of the time, these pearls were served in cold infused tea. After the tea and flavor were shaken well, bubbles would froth on top, mimicking the bubble shape of the tapioca pearls. Thus it also became known as "Bubble Tea."
There are many variants of the drinks, and many kinds of ingredients may be added. The most popular bubble drinks are bubble milk tea with tapioca and bubble milk green tea with tapioca. (which we carry!)
Our bubble tea is usually made with black or green tea. Tea is a low-fat, low-calorie beverage rich with cell-supporting antioxidants. Though tea generally contains less caffeine than coffee, it affects everyone differently. Watch out for restlessness, irritability, and disturbed sleep. To add a hint of fruity flavor, we will add in a purée of fresh fruit. Then we top it off with milk to give it a creamy texture.
The great thing about our bubble tea is that there are so many ways to make it! Choose from a base of health green or black tea, mix it with natural fruit from our toppings station, and top it off with our specialty pearls. Try it today in our tea or smoothie form!
